From the very start of his clinical practice twenty years ago, Uzzi Reiss' objective has been to help patients correct lifestyle mistakes from the past, overcome symptoms in the present, and move forward to a healthier future.
He accomplishes this with individualized programs of natural hormones, nutrition and mind/body principles. In the early 1980s he began adopting innovative 'alternative' methods in his obstetrical-gynecological practice. He soon found that the approach gave patients powerful options with which to maximize health while minimizing the need for pharmaceuticals and surgery.
In 1982, he opened the first Pre Menstrual Syndrome (PMS) health center that was aimed to resolve this condition by a natural, hormonal approach.
A decade later, when the exciting field of anti-aging medicine emerged, Dr. Reiss was among the first physicians participating in courses and applying the new research in his practice. Many patients of all ages have benefited with greater health and vitality from this new knowledge.
In 1997, Dr. Reiss opened the Beverly Hills Anti-Aging Center, and began seeing male patients as well. It was a natural expansion of his prevention-oriented practice for women.
In 1999, he became one of the first certified physicians in Anti-Aging medicine. In 2012 he became an elite fellow in Anti-Aging regenerative and functional medicine and finished a course in Integrative Cancer Therapies. Currently Dr. Reiss attends a master degree program offered by the University of Southern Florida(Tampa) in Regenerative medicine.
At his center, patients have come to him seeking a doctor who does more than prescribe pills for their symptoms. They have come to a doctor who emphasizes prevention, who searches for the causes of problems, and who works with patients to optimize their health.
"I believe a physician should be as concerned about improving the health of patients as in treating illness," says Dr. Reiss. "To achieve these goals the doctor should use the most effective and the least invasive tools available, and which cause the least possible side effects."
At his center, Dr. Reiss personally interviews each patient, authorizes the appropriate testing, and then evaluates results and information to structure a wholly individualized therapeutic or preventive anti-aging program.
He is outspoken about the importance of individual treatment. "No two patients are the same," he says. "Identical twins with the same condition may require totally different approaches. There is no single medication for each and every person. When we investigate the causes of problems, and treat the individual and not the disease, we are much better able to help patients. In my opinion, this is the way to decrease the unacceptably high incidence of chronic disease, doctor-related illnesses and side effects, and create a healthier society."
"The treatments I develop are designed to fit into each lifestyle, budget, and each patient's ability to follow through. The programs don't work otherwise, no matter how medically sound. I am not stuck to combinations and elements of programs that may be generally effective but are not compatible with someone's lifestyle. I create programs that people can follow. That's what brings results."
At Dr. Reiss's center, two types of services are currently offered:
Anti-aging medicine, for both women and men.
Nutritional and hormone-based gynecology.
In January 2001, Dr. Reiss' first book, Natural Hormone Balance for Women was published. Drawing on his many years of clinical experience, the book provides a careful step-by-step program for women of all ages who want to take control of their lives by restoring hormonal balance.
In September 2003, he published his second book How to Make a Pregnant Woman Happy. This is a nutritional layout on how to prevent the challenges of pregnancy nutritionally.
In May 2004, he published How to Make a New Mother Happy. This is a how to do book that teaches how to overcome the challenges of the post period, including post partum depression - with nutrient and natural hormones.
In November 2007, The Natural Superwoman will be published. This book is basically an informative encyclopedia that supplies you with scientific based data on the value, the safety, and the significant benefits of nutrients and natural hormones in our society today and any age.
